Carefully selected by a Master of Wine, our award winning Portuguese Alvarinho is to be enjoyed without pomp or ceremony! It's easy drinking, crisp, light-bodied, packed with peach, citrus zest and pear.

Oh, and what's in a name? A Bowl Grabber?!? That's someone who holds their glass by the bowl, not the stem. A faux pas I hear you say?!? Yes indeed; because we're for people who love enjoying great wine not endlessly discussing etiquette!

History

Born in the small town of Mogege in the heart of the Vinho Verde region in Portugal and nurtured by the team at Casal de Ventozela, a family run independent business that own a small 27 hectares of vineyard.

Vinification Details

The grapes, harvested by hand and selected in the field, are carefully transported to the winery in boxes of 18 kg. After a pre-fermentation maceration at low temperature the grapes are pressed, followed by alcoholic fermentation of 90% of the must in a stainless steel tank with controlled temperature between 16°C and 18°C and the fermentation of the remaining 10% takes place in a French Oak barrel. After fermentation, the wine goes through aging, remaining in batonnage with the fine lees for a minimum period of 4 months.
