Real Mexican Flavours Chilli rating: 2/4 Great taste from natural flavours No Artificial Colours, Flavours or Preservatives Vegetarian friendly
At Las Chicas (that means "the girls" by the way), we believe that women are the beating heart of Mexican cuisine. But here’s the thing, only 7% of head chefs worldwide are women (not cool right?). We can do better. From collaborating with Mexican chefs to develop our recipes, to supporting the next generation of female chefs with our Las Chicas Collective Initiative, we have big ambitions to champion women and help close the culinary gender gap. Preparation and Usage
Fierce flavours in just 4 steps
Beef Tacos with sweet ancho chilli and smoky chipotle, topped with zingy salsa roja. As seen on social media.
Step 1 Prep: Slice the beef steak and mix with the Las Chicas Birria Cooking Paste (the smaller sachet) in a bowl - set aside and let the beef marinate while you prep the rest. If you have time - leave to marinate for longer for even fiercer flavours! Now just dice the onion, chop the coriander, quarter the lime - we'll use these later. Step 2 Sizzle: Add a good glug of oil to a frying pan and cook the beef on a medium-high heat for about 3-4 mins, giving it a good stir as you go. Then turn the heat down and simmer on low for another 5-7 mins until cooked through. Step 3 Heat: Get your Las Chicas Tortillas nice and toasty by heating in a dry pan for 20 seconds on each side, or simply put them all in a microwave for 20s. Step 4 Assemble: Taco time! Place the steak on the heated tortilla first, followed by the coriander, onion, a generous drizzle of the Las Chicas Salsa Roja, and finally a squeeze of lime.
To buy: 300g beef steak or plant based substitute 1 small onion 1 bunch of coriander 1 lime
