Additional Ingredients: 175g Butter 175g Golden caster sugar 4 tbsp golden syrup 397ml Condensed milk 300g Dark chocolate pieces
1. Pre-heat the oven to 160°C/Fan 140°C/Gas Mark 3. Line a 20cm x 23cm tin with baking paper, making sure the paper overhangs slightly. 2. Shortbread: Whizz the sugar, butter and flours in a food processor to make a soft dough. Press into the tin, chill for 20 minutes. Bake for 35 minutes then leave to cool. 3. Caramel: Melt in the butter, sugar and golden syrup in a saucepan over a low heat. Add the condensed milk and stir. 4. Simmer whilst stirring the mixture for 5 minutes to thicken. Leave to cool 5. Put the chocolate pieces into a bowl and melt in the microwave. 6. Spread the caramel over the shortbread base. Top with an even layer of chocolate. 7. Leave to set then cut into squares.
