Tasting Notes
This vibrant violet wine dazzles with aromas of blueberry skin, Amarena cherries, black cherry, and poached strawberries, along with dark forest berries and red liquorice. The juicy, finely textured palate reveals fresh blueberry coulis, ripe plums, and hints of clove spice and white pepper, complemented by sweet spice and mocha notes. With its balanced fruit freshness, gentle tannins, and long acidity, it offers both structure and versatility, making it an excellent choice with or without food.

History
The MadFish story begins at Southern Western Australia’s breathtaking MadFish Bay, where two tides collide to create a spectacular display of leaping fish. This extraordinary natural event inspires us to capture the essence of place in every bottle. MadFish is an iconic Australian family-owned brand, recognised both locally and internationally. Inextricably linked to the rugged coastlines and ancient soils of the South West, we focus on enjoyment and drinkability, offering a style for everyone to enjoy.
Regional Information
Great Southern subregions of Frankland River and Mount Barker express a more continental climate characterised by an intensity and concentration of dark fruits with traces of spice, earth, and guiding tannins. MadFish Shiraz is a fabulous example of the multifaceted style WA Shiraz has to offer.

Vinification Details
Cooler temperatures and dry weather created ideal conditions for a long but exceptional vintage in Margaret River and Great Southern. Winter rains replenished soil moisture and dams, setting the stage for the growing season. A mild spring with late budburst was followed by warm, dry conditions that benefited flowering, canopy growth, and fruit set in Margaret River. Great Southern had cooler, wetter weather, leading to lower yields but fuller ripeness at harvest. Throughout summer, dry, warm weather allowed for steady ripening, with harvest spanning from 16 February to 22 April. Minimal rain kept the fruit on the vine for optimal ripeness and flavor, while cooling winds preserved acidity and freshness. Late summer rain delayed the red harvest slightly but caused no disease pressure, instead refreshing the vines. Overall, it was another high-quality year, similar to 2022.
