About the Dish:
Our decadent take on the classic carbonara includes salty pancetta, eggs and delicious Italian cheese. Carbonara is a dish of great significance in the history of modern Italy, first appearing in the 1950s when it was served to American GI's following the Allied liberation of Rome. We serve our carbonara with strands of spaghetti, perfect for catching every last morsel of sauce. Follow the instructions we include with your kit and enjoy a 5* pasta dish in 5 minutes.

STORAGE: Like all fresh products, our artisan pasta has a limited shelf life. Keep chilled & consume by the date indicated above. 
FREEZING: Alternatively freeze before use by date. The pasta can be cooked from frozen, for 4-5 minutes. The carbonara and pancetta need to be defrosted overnight in the fridge.

How to cook
1. Bring a large saucepan of water to the boil. Salt the water (around ½tbsp per litre).
2. Cook the pasta in the boiling water for 1 minute. Stir regularly to prevent sticking.
3. Whilst the pasta cooks, pan-fry the pancetta in a frying pan on a medium-high heat until crispy.
4. Lower the heat on the pancetta pan and add the carbonara sauce. Take care to ensure that all of the sauce is squeezed from the pouch.
5. Add 75 ml (5tbsp) of the pasta cooking water, stir well to combine with the sauce and heat until steaming, then turn off the heat.
6. Lift the pasta out of the water and add to the sauce. Toss together so that the sauce coats the pasta.
7. Serve topped with the grated cheese. Buon appetito!
