History

Formed in 1997 when 17 small-scale producers banded together to create Sagrada Familia S.A. (Vinos Lautaro). Before this, producers were dedicated mainly to the cultivation of annual crops like corn and wheat, rather than viticulture. Workers did not have access to electricity, drinking water, or even have enough beds for all family members. Today, Lautaro Wines is a Fairtrade Enterprise formed of 23 associate shareholders and small scale suppliers

Regional Information

Vinos Lautaro are based in Curicó in the Lontue Valley. 180 ha are planted in the farms surrounding the town of Sagrada Familia, which belongs to Lautaro associates and small scale suppliers
