From the fabulously free-range life they enjoy, to the useful pop-up timer and roasting bag to speed up Sunday morning, we put a lot of thought into our Chicken to achieve a noticeably rich flavour. We raise our birds in extensive fields where they are free to peck and forage for their food in the way chickens love to do. They live for longer than a standard chicken, which makes for larger, mature birds with naturally more delicious meat to enjoy. It's not the quickest way to rear chickens, but it's the right way, and for us, it's the only way.

We will continue to improve welfare conditions for poultry and bring flavour back to British chicken.
From January 2017 our chickens will arrive thoughtfully wrapped in greaseproof paper and bagged rather than boxed to reduce packaging waste.

Our chickens come ready to roast with a handy pop-up timer which should be inserted into the thickest past of the breast before cooking. It will pop p when the bird is ready to come out of the oven. Here are a few more pointers to get the most out of your bird.
* Preheat oven to 220°C/ 430°F/Gas 8
* Remove chicken from fridge an hour before cooking. Place in roasting tray & season. Insert Pop-Up Timer according to instructions
* Our chickens have a lovely layer of fat so there is no need to add butter or oil
* Pop your herbs into the cavity of the bird, or you could scatter half over the top
* Place in the oven and cook for 20 minutes before reducing oven temperature to 180°C/360°F/Gas 4, cook for approx. 15 minutes per 500g.
* If using foil, remove foil 15 minutes before end to ensure crispy skin
* Remove chicken from oven and allow to rest for 15 minutes
* Roasting Bag: if you wish to speed up the roasting time you can use the roasting bag provided.
Prepare the chicken in the same way as above and cook for 15 minutes per 500g without the additional 20 minutes at the start.
